In 2000, he studied civil law at the University of the Americas in Mexico City where he gained exposure to various elements of Mexican civil-military leadership. He is fluent in Spanish and a Russian novice. He is also a passionate student of Mexican and Russian history.
In 2006, Rey served as Field Minority Relations Director to U.S. Congressman J.D. Hayworth and, in 2012, served as Director of Communications for the Majority Caucus of the Arizona House of Representatives. Since 2004, Rey has been a member of the Arizona Latino Republican Association (ALRA) where he has held various leadership positions such as Director of Communications.
In 2011, he was elected President of ALRA and served in that capacity till 2015. He has collaborated with a multitude of domestic and international English and Spanish language media sources (radio, television, etc.) in order to provide a conservative presence on media networks and publications such as Telemundo, Univision, Galavision and Prensa Hispana.
Aside from his professional role as a Human Resources Manager, Rey currently leads ALRA’s statewide efforts to foment conservative Latino membership and political campaigns with a particular focus on the recruitment and support of conservative Latino candidates for public office.
